MCS Staff Fall 2019

MCS staff are a vibrant group of educators from several different countries: Britain, USA, Canada, Australia, Egypt, Mexico, Eritrea, South Africa, and Venezuela. They are united in their strong Christian faith, their commitment to the mission and vision of MCS and their love of teaching the students.

School Leadership

The School is governed by a Parent Board.

• Head of Primary: Beccy Smith

• Head of Secondary: Brenna Howard

• Finance and Administration Manager: Christina Saadalla

Board

There are six elected members on the MCS Board of Directors. The Board appoints one member as the Chairperson, one as the Secretary, and one as Treasurer.

The Board usually meets every month, except during the summer vacation. The Principal attends Board meetings ex-officio. Although the monthly Board meetings are not public, parents and teachers are encouraged to address any non-academic queries about the running of MCS to the Board in writing via the school office or by email to board@mceducation.org

Devotions

At Maadi Community School the staff meet together daily to pray for the school before the children arrive. Once the school day begins we have have a dynamic devotions schedule for the students:

• Sunday: Whole School Assembly

• Monday: Students gather in their individual year groups for a more private devotional time

• Tuesday: primary and secondary meet separately for a topical assembly looking at contemporary issues or current news items.

• Wednesday: Individual year groups take turns to perform for the whole school.

• Thursdays: Guest Speaker from wider community
